John Gurney & Matt Alderman
December 27, 2018 @ 9:00 pm$5.00
Join us for a special songwriters round with John Gurney and Matt Alderman!
Matt Alderman is a songwriter and producer from Chicago, IL. After graduating from the University of Miami, Florida, in 2012 he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in songwriting. In 2013, Matt signed a publishing deal with Curb and quickly found himself writing with some of Music Row’s best rising talent. Matt came out swinging and landed a song that became a single for Jake Owen, “Good Company.” He struck gold a second time when he began collaborating with Curb recording artist Dylan Scott, writing and producing on his debut, self-titled album. In 2017, he and Dylan experienced success as a team with a shared number one song, “My Girl.” Matt’s songs have been recorded by artists like Lee Brice, Brett Young, Granger Smith, Cale Dodds, Seth Ennis, Chase Rice, Jackson Michelson, Jon Langston, and LoCash.
John Gurney’s musical roots run deep; a composer/performer mother with a gift for lyricism and an acoustic engineer father with a pitch-perfect ear. Raised in metro Chicago, with bedrock Midwestern roots, John packed up his degree from the University of Missouri and headed for Nashville. John began to find his voice, as performer and songwriter and within a few short years, he wrote the song that won the prestigious 2018 NSAI Song Contest, presented by CMT. See this Rising Star for yourself in the cast of E! network’s new show,”Very Cavallari.”
